All of it, for a month. No card.
Your first 30 days are the whole of Tools Down, and nothing is counted. There’s no card to give and nothing to cancel: when the month’s up you carry on free, unless you choose Pro.
02Free, for good
50 messages a month. Every screen, always.
After the first month, 50 messages a month to Tools Down stay free. Everything else keeps working: customers, jobs, the Diary, quotes and invoices on their screens, the chasing, your reminders, the morning brief and export. Nothing that stands between you and being paid is switched off.
Billing shows how many are left. If they run out, your message goes back in the box, photos and all, and your free messages come back on the 1st.

The price you join at is the price you keep for as long as you stay on Pro. If we ever charge new customers more, you keep paying what you joined at.

04Cancelling
Cancel through Apple. Whenever you like.
Pro is an Apple subscription, so Apple takes the payment, and you cancel it where you manage every subscription on your iPhone. Manage subscription, in Billing, opens it for you.
Pro stays on until the end of the month you’ve paid for. Then you’re on the free plan, with everything you’ve saved still there. Deleting your Tools Down account leaves Pro running, so cancel it first.
The free plan
What counts as a message
On the free plan, 50 a month. A message counts once, when it reaches Tools Down, however many times your phone has to send it.
One message each
- Each message you send to Tools Down, typed or said, in a chat or in Incognito. What you say is turned into words and sent, so it counts once, like typing.
- A message with photos. However many photos go with it, it’s one message.
- Tapping an answer when Tools Down asks you a question: the tap sends your answer as a message.
- A button that sends a message for you: Follow up and Book it in, after you’ve asked what’s on, or booking in a customer from the notification that says they’ve accepted.
Never a message
- Tools Down’s replies, and the questions it asks you.
- The morning brief, the evening wrap, your reminders and the daily tip.
- The payment reminders it sends your customers.
- Picking which customer or job it meant, when it shows you the choices.
- Retry, after a reply that didn’t come through: it answers the same message.
- Anything you do on the screens: customers, jobs, the Diary, quotes, invoices, expenses and export.
The month runs from the 1st to the last day of the month where you are, and your 50 come back at midnight on the 1st. In your first month, and on Pro, nothing is counted.

Questions about the price
Do I need a card for the free month?
No. The first 30 days need nothing but your sign-in, and nothing starts charging when they end. You pay only if you choose Pro.
What happens when my free messages are used up?
Tools Down says “That’s this month’s 50 free messages. Everything else still works.”, puts your message back in the box, and offers Pro. Every screen, the chasing and your reminders carry on, and your messages come back on the 1st.
Is VAT included?
Yes. Pro is £29.99 a month including VAT. If you’re VAT registered and reclaim it, it costs you £24.99.
How do I cancel Pro?
In Tools Down, go to Settings, then Billing, then Manage subscription, which opens your Apple subscriptions. Pro stays on to the end of the month you’ve paid for, then you’re on the free plan.
Will the price go up?
Not for you while you stay on Pro: the price you join at is the price you keep. If you cancel and come back later, you pay the App Store price at the time.
What does fair use mean?
A weekly limit on messages, set well above a busy week, and monthly ceilings on what an account can make, set well above a busy month. They’re the same on every plan, and when one is reached, everything else keeps working. If you hit one doing real work, tell us at hello@toolsdown.app and we’ll sort it.

Tools Down is made for one person: one sign-in, one business. The price is for you, not per seat.
